The aviation sector in India and abroad is growing day by day and is creating lots of opportunities in the aviation field. The field of aviation sector is getting broader.  As aviation could be used as the new means of travel in the future, it can be said that there will be a rise in need for aeronautical engineers. Aeronautical engineering can be considered as the best course in the field of aviation. The course helps the students in gaining hands-on experience on aircraft manufacturing and mechanics. It deals with different elements of manufacturing an aircraft such as designing, testing, constructing, researching etc. After the completion of the course, one could take up job in many sectors such as the civil aviation, defence sector etc. with good remuneration. Some of the job profile after the completion of the course includes

•        Mechanical Design Engineer
•        Thermal Design Engineer
•        Assistant Aircraft Engineer
•        Aircraft Production Manager
•        Aerospace Design Checker
•        Graduate Engineer Trainees
•        Assistant Technical Officers

There are also job vacancies in production and design of turbines. In the defence sector, an Aeronautical Engineer would be responsible for the design and manufacture of missiles, aircrafts and could work in organisations such as ISRO, DRDO etc.
To be successful in this field of engineering, one should study in the best Educational Institution that offers quality education. Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET), situated at the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram is the first Campus under KTU (APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University) to offer Aeronautical Engineering. The well-equipped class rooms and laboratories helps the students in their studies. Training in all relevant fields such as the design, development, construction, testing and operation of the vehicle within the Earth’s atmosphere and also outer space is given to students. The Department of the College is highly efficient with dedicated faculty who are always there for clarifying the questions raised by students. The laboratories consists of useful equipment such as Low speed wind tunnel, Polariscope, an Aircraft-Husky etc., that are very much helpful to students in their studies. Various laboratories in the Department includes Aerodynamics Lab, Aircraft Structures lab, Experimental Stress Analysis lab, Propulsion lab & Modelling and Simulation lab. To enrich the students with curricular and co-curricular activities during the four year undergraduate program, the campus also provides the students with an Innovation centre, UAV Construction lab and Fly Club.
