Scope of Forensic Science

Forensic Science is one of the important streams which produces a huge number of job opportunities in India and also overseas. It is a culmination of various distinct branches. Forensic Scientists are also having a good future in the government sector as they can work in various law enforcement agencies such as the police, investigative services such as the CBI etc. Some of the private organisations also employ an expert in forensic science. A candidate who have completed plus two in the science stream is eligible to get admission to degree course in Forensic Science. On an average a forensic expert will get Rs.3-4 Lakh per annum and would increase up to Rs.10 Lakhs on gaining necessary experience. Some of the job prospects include the following

 One could also take up the role as a teacher in Forensic institutes and pass their knowledge gained to the students. There are also options for working as a freelancer in this field. After gaining much experience in this field one could also work as a legal counsellor. In India, various universities offer under graduate, post graduate and doctorate courses in Forensic Sciences. The universities that provide degree courses in this field includes Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Punjabi University, Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Manipal University, University of Delhi etc.
